This is a perfect example off how we cannot control the ocean. A valid reason why the MLPA science is flawed. Only the ill informed or plain arrogant human would think they can control the ocean. The sun and moon got that job a long time ago.

Captain Temo Verboonen reports very favorable conditions from Zihuatanejo with warm, blue waters and good fishing just a mile outside the bay. He reports dorado in big schools and they are catching easy limits on a daily basis. The sailfish action has been slow, but not for the lack of fish. Just been a lack of biters. The inshore fishing is red hot for roosterfish in the 40-50 lb. ranges and they have been fairly eager to chew on the pencil poppers and the live bait. The roosters are chasing the anchovey/sardine schools and the bird schools are pointing out the movements of the fish. It's fast & lively action for the light tackle anglers. Also in the near shore waters are good catches of rainbow runners and big eye jacks which have been biting best on the trolling feathers and deep-running lures. Overall, Temo says it's really fun fishing this are right now and he would expect this type of action to conttinue right on through to the late fall.
It seems like the bulk of the dorado in the Sea of Cortez has taken up residence at Mazatlan, as the daily fast-action continues to provide easy fish limits for those that access the shark buoys. While there are some sailfish for the offshore cruisers, most of the anglers are opting for the dorado fishing or perhaps splitting the trip into a try for the billfish and if nothing happens for a while, then reverting to the buoys for the dorado action. The offshore cruisers reflected 5 sailfish and limits of dorado for five offshore fishing days. The inshore boats, including cruisers and super pangas, reflected mostly limit fishing for dorado and numerous releases on light tackle.
The Mr. Tracey Thomassee party, fishing aboard the "FISH CABO" with Captain Gil Marquez, had a terrific day fishing inshore for the roosterfish. The group released 8 roosterfish for the morning with the two larger fish in the 50-70 lb. range and the smaller ones in the 25 lb. range. Adding to the day were a pair of dorado to 45 lbs. Billfish counts were on the slow side with about every third boat landing/releasing a marlin. Overall counts for the combined 26 fishing days reflected 8 stripers, (5 releases) 2 jack cravelle, 2 skipjack tuna, 49 yellowfin tuna 8 roosterfish and 49 dorado.
