Sea Adventure 80

Captain Scott,

Just came off your boat this morning, and wanted to drop you a couple of words of thanks and encouragement (not that you need the latter, but I feel that it can never hurt to hear). I appreciate being invited to your wheelhouse for a few minutes to try to help us find fish. Anyway, without getting too blah blah blah, I have to tell you, that for having a rough "catching" trip, you and your crew made it into a great FISHING trip. You set the tone from the first meeting with accountability, and asked us to work as hard as you and your men throughout the day, and I could see your "regulars" do that, and the group of guys I was with, as well as the Arizona gang, tried to follow suit.

I manage Little League teams (as does my friend Buddy copied on this email) and AYSO soccer teams, and we both commented from the get-go how much leadership you displayed and how much that made us want to fish for not just ourselves, but for the boat and the team. At the end of the day, we absolutely knew that we were playing for a "coach" that gave a rats ass. I truly felt that, yes, it sucked for you and the crew to not get fish in the boat economically, but also that you all felt it from your "players" side as well. I know that when we coach young men, if we can get players that want to play hard for us because they trust and believe in us, then more times than not, then the team will be successful, but when we're not, they know we did everything we could to make it happen, it just wasn't our day, and they come back to play harder next time. You got us amped to play every "inning" yesterday. It was great to see the same theme played out in an actual real life job/situation.

Anyway, I don't want to belabor the point. I appreciate how you go about your business and hopefully others can learn from your leadership qualities. I look forward to fishing with you again in the future. Tight lines for the rest of your season Cap'...

Sincerely,

--
Scott MacNaughton

Royal Polaris -Alijos Heats Up

Hello everyone;

Weather continues to be gorgeous, with flat seas, clear skies, and sunny. It was the perfect summer day, with excellent fishing.

We arrived to Alijos rocks at 10:30 hours. We started trolling, and the Wahoo didn't cooperate, but we did land a few, before putting down the anchor. The first part of the day was a bit slow, so we pulled our anchor. We made a few drifts for some Grouper and Yellowtail. We did manage to catch one Yellowtail and two Grouper.

We headed back to the rocks and put our anchor down again. It was like day and night for the afternoon. The Yellowfin bite heated up. We had excellent Yellowfin tuna fishing on 50 to 70 pound fish, with a few in the 25 to 40 pound range. From 15:30 hours until dark we landed 45 Yellowfin in that 50 to 70 pound range.

At the end of the day we would end up with 60 Yellowfin, 6 Wahoo, 1 Short-bill Spear fish, 2 Grouper, 2 Dorado, 1 Yellowtail. I would have to say, today was a good day. We are now headed to Cedros Island and try our luck at some Halibut and Calico Bass. So until tomorrow, wish us luck, the R/p crew.

For a complete season schedule on the Royal Polaris CLICK HERE then call 619-226-8030 for more information and to book your trip.

Some boats contribute nothing to SAC so please support SAC boats and help to protect your fishing future

Point Loma Sportfishing Long Range Update

WHAT A DAY!! We had an excellent day of fishing. It was steady catching all day long. The variety, the quality, and the quantity were all very good for us. Jumbo Yellows up to 40 lbs along with BIG Bull Dorado up to 40 lbs made for an exciting day. There were a couple of Marlin hooked that put on a great show for us and a couple of nice Grouper caught as well. Oh, the Yellowfin Tuna ranging from 20-45 lbs were on the bite all day as well. Everyone is very tired of pulling on fish today and enjoying a fine dinner prepared by Javier. One of the oceans giants in the form of a huge Whale Shark paid us a visit along with a large Sea Turtle. It was just one of those perfect days of Long Range Angling that remind us why we appreciate our passion for the sea so much.

Guy would like to say hello to his beautiful wife Gale and let you know that he is having a great time.

We had one of the nicest rides of the year as there was very little breeze and sea condition. We saw decent sign of yellows in several different places and everyone had a great time. The yellows were biting the yo yo and they were also showing pretty well on the surface so the flyline and surface lure was also very effective.

Matt Salas is on a bus man's holiday and is pictured with one of many yellows that were fooled by a Salas 6x jr.
